Excellent psychological thriller based on tragic historical WWII event

This is an excellent psychological thriller based on a tragic historical event that occurred during WWII, and it tells the story of an immigrant family caught up in the events of the day. The author's husband's grandfather perished in the downing of the ship in the title. Her impassioned writing brings a sense of urgency and character to what is also a valuable history lesson along the way. This is a terrific novel!

I purchase this book based on the single person 5-stars review (big mistake!). It has almost 50% of its initial chapters on historical technology, and the rest is more than a standard knowledge you would learn browsing the internet. I totally disappointed, I think I will publish my own and put real stuff for readers about state of art solutions for Smart living!

Excellent Cards! Great Quality!

I LOVE these cards. We give them to our yoga teacher training students to assist with the memorization of the Primary Series and also with help in learning the Sanskrit names of each pose. I've purchased many of these cards over the year and everyone loves them!! Great quality and I love that they come on a ring. The cards can be removed from the ring and my students lay them down on the floor as they learn the sequence. I'd give it more stars if that were an option! They are a little pricey but I feel like it's completely worth it!

One tiny flaw... or maybe not so tiny

These are great cards. They're bound in a ring, so you can remove some poses you can't do yet, or reorder if you're feeling wild and crazy! There's one flaw, though. In some poses, you can't see what the model is doing with his feet, which makes all the difference in janu shirshasana, for instance. I found myself making notes on some of the cards, so that I have the poses in the correct order. Even if it would be unreasonable to have a photo that showed his foot position, a note on some of the poses would have been helpful for those of us still learning.

This is a BIG book, but very pretty collection, would make a good gift

I've never read The Borrowers, but I was familiar with the story after the movie came out several years ago. I bought this anthology as a read aloud book at bedtime for my 5 year old. I wasn't sure she would be able to follow along with so few pictures, but she has been keeping up enough that she wants me to keep going.

I thought it was great to be able to get all the books in one collection, but it makes for a large and somewhat heavy book. A small child wouldn't be able to comfortably carry it around. Still, my daughter was actually excited because she said it was her own "grown up book."

The artwork and coloring on the cover is very comely and the illustrations on the inside, while few, are the originals from when first published. I was glad they hadn't changed or added to that.

I probably would have waited another year or so to introduce The Borrowers to my daughter, but she and I are both enjoying it. I think this would make a great gift for any elementary school child who was into reading.

I've wanted to read all five "Borrowers" books for years, and my kindle fire is the most convenient way to do it.
I really like that all the illustrations (American version) are there.

Great buy for your young reader!

This book was purchased as a Christmas gift for my granddaughter. I read the books when I was a kid and had very fond memories of them. I love the fact that all of the books are in one. I was, however, surprised at the thickness of the book. I would highly recommend it for the pre-teen reader in your life.

It does one thing very well

An easy-read, yet through guide to silicone RTV molding and resin casting. It's a solid book for beginner to intermediate level people. If you cast stuff for a living and have years of experience, this book probably won't reveal anything all that new to you.

It has the look of a self-published craft book.

There is a lot about mold making, but much less about casting.

Also, I bought the book specifically to find out best practices for casting resin using plaster molds.

No love on that topic in this book.

The book confines itself to silicone rubber mould-making and polyurethane casting, which limits its applicability. it appears to be one person's experience of a limited range of work but no doubt it could be useful to someone facing similar requirements.

Deceptive marketing

I recently purchased the Kindle version of this book and I have to give it a one because I am unable to give it a zero. The cover leads one to believe that a CD is included and it is even referenced in the book but no such luck. I understand that it is not physically possible to include a CD with a Kindle book but I would expect to be able to download the audio from a website. I contacted Amazon and they informed me that supplemental material is not included with the purchase. They gave me the option of contacting the supplier in England or returning the book. I wrote to the supplier and they suggested that I contact the publisher. At this point, I find myself having to decide whether to keep a book with the equivalent of pages missing or returning it.
