About the Author

Marc H. Meyer is the Robert J. Shillman professor of Entrepreneurship at Northeastern University, as well as a Matthews Distinguished University Professor. Dr. Meyer is the founder of Northeastern University’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group in the College of Business Administration, where he has helped numerous students and alumni start their own companies. He is also director of High Tech MBA, a program focused on innovation within established corporations. He also helps direct Northeastern’s Center of Entrepreneurship Education, an interdisciplinary, experiential “system of entrepreneurship” where undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni learn the principles of entrepreneurial thinking and planning, and then launch new companies.

An internationally recognized scholar in the field of research and innovation, Dr. Meyer is the author of The Power of Product Platforms (written with Alvin P. Lehnerd, The Free Press, NY, 1997) and The Fast Path to Corporate Growth: Leveraging Knowledge and Technologies to New Market Applications, for which he received the Maurice Holland Award from the Industrial Research Institute (Oxford University Press, NY, 2007). Dr. Meyer is a graduate of Harvard College and holds his master’s and doctoral degrees from MIT.

Frederick G. Crane is an executive professor of Entrepreneurship & Innovation at the College of Business at Northeastern University, Editor of the Journal of the Academy of Business Education, and co-founder of Ceilidh Insights LLC, an innovation management training, intellectual property consulting, and consumer insight company. He was formerly a professor of marketing and entrepreneurship at the University of New Hampshire and a chair and full professor at Dalhousie University. He currently teaches courses in entrepreneurship, innovation, and entrepreneurial marketing.

His academic research activities have resulted in more than 100 publications, including fifteen books. Additionally, he currently serves on the editorial boards of several academic journals. His current research stream intersects the domains of marketing, entrepreneurship, corporate venturing, and innovation, and he is conducting ongoing research on the psychology of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial education, entrepreneurial branding, and innovation readiness. Dr. Crane is also an award-winning educator who has received numerous honors for teaching excellence over the past twenty years.

Interesting Topics, Dull Delivery

I am a fan of fully colored pages. However, this book only has three colors: black, white, and baby blue. Professors have said that people learn better with a variety of colors. In my case, I agree. Also, the paper stock is different than what one would expect in a text (maybe the term is non-glossy?).

At any rate, the information is unparalleled compared to other books. Yes, there are the standard things like the phases of a business, but this book is the first that went into details about mining customers using a plethora of techniques, including data mining. My favorite tip was to observe the customer in his natural habitat. The books that I've read talked about taking surveys, but never accompanying or observing a customer during using a product. I'm a fan of the information, but dislike the delivery of it.

The Obagi Blue Peel is an amazing product that can eliminate the need for facial surgery (ie face lift). I have seen first hand the results that can be achieved with Dr. Obagi's system. The book is clear and concise and would be a great addition to any skin care library.

A Cherry of a Book!

Many books and stories out there about the Doors. Jim Cherry did an excellent job in this book.
The Doors Examined was an easy and in depth book about the events and people surrounding the Doors. I will read this one again as it gives the reader, not only an overview of the events that happened, but also how people around the Doors (JM)were responding to the events. It is pretty clear that Jim Morrison had a different perspective on the band than the other members, which was instrumental in ending the journey (band and life?). a recommend read -

A weird thing, I had just finished this book and began reading Ray Manzarek's book "Light My Fire" the day before Ray passed, I also had Nirvana in my car the day Kurt Cobain died (made me wonder how Paul Rothchild felt when Jim Morrison and Janis Joplin passed - he worked with both); spooky!

Another great read is John Densmore's "The Doors, Unhinged"

Honest Rock `n' Roll

Jim Cherry's book, The Doors Examined, serves as both a basic introduction to the Doors and a solid history of the group. Cherry has the ability to remain unbiased as he sorts through and reports facts, which is helpful for readers wanting a balanced perspective.

These selections are taken from his long-standing website, the Doors Examiner, which has proven to be a reliable source of information. His enthusiasm for the music and each of the musicians is strong throughout, which helps carry the multiple threads. The chapters are roughly organized by chronology, though there are slight overlaps, which I liked; readers can thumb through out of sequence, then shift forward.

Besides being a journalist, Jim is a novelist; his writing is carefully honed for meaning. I particularly enjoyed new nuggets on the early years & influences and recommend this book to anyone who wants a compact yet through reference on the Doors.

Nice collection of tidbits, insights, perspectives and information. Assembled in a way that makes it an easy read giving the ability to jump from here to there. One issue I have is the exclusion of 'Morrison Hotel' in the album overview section. How do you leave out Morrison Hotel? Sheesh! Haha! Other than that, a great collection of moments in Time and people in play and the influences of both.

About the Author
Dr. Ed Park, MD, is founder of Recharge Biomedical of Orange County, California. He graduated with honors from Harvard University with BA in Biological Anthropology in 1989. He earned his MD from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons and his Master of Public Health degree from Columbia, School of Public Health in 1993. He completed internship and residency at Beth Israel Hospital, a teaching hospital of the Harvard Medical School in 1997.
In 2007, he became one of the first 20 people in the world to regularly ingest a nutraceutical telomerase activator. In 2008, he became the first MD licensed to prescribe it and has since become the foremost expert on what he calls Telomerase Activation Medicine.
Dr. Park has created over 90 original videos based on his clinical experience that explore a myriad of disease conditions and their relationships to telomere erosion. His videos have been viewed over 120,000 times on YouTube.

The best explanation of TA-65 to date

I found the book interesting as a guide to what has been happening to me, and to others. I'm 69, and have been taking 3 capsules daily for a bit over a year. For me, the most immediate effect of TA-65 has been better sleep and vivid dreaming. And after a while, I realized that exercise recovery is faster. Dr. Park's description of the "upward spiral of health" is definitely true.

One thing that caught me entirely off guard is that I had to buy new eyeglasses. The prescription for one eye improved from -2.5 to -1.5 in maybe 6 months. Of course it seemed like my vision was worse, and it was because the old prescription was no longer correct. Only time will tell if my vision continues to change, but I like the direction.

The biggest criticism I've heard about TA-65 is that it is unproven. And in today's world of drugs, that is a bad thing. Dr. Park explains that while TA-65 is new, the plant that it is isolated from has been used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years. It's sort of Silicon Valley Bio-tech meets traditional Chinese Medicine.

While TA-65 was selected on the basis of activating telomerase, the effects seem to go beyond what I would expect of just having longer telomeres. Dr. Park theorizes that there are at least 4 mechanisms of action: prevention, faster replication, stochastic, and apoptosis. He thinks that these mechanisms may explain delayed improvement that occurs only after the Hayflick limit is reached on damaged cells. Huh? Read the book...

Learn about the forefront of longevity theory

I am emphatically enjoying my read of Telomere Timebombs and suggest all health nuts, skeptics, philosophers, or anyone with an inkling of mental agility give it a go. I am reading this after already devouring most of his online educational material and testing TA-65 on myself and family. There have been noticeable results which I keep from my review for privacy concerns, but you need not believe me to just be curious enough to dig in. I did not start a fan of Dr. Parks worldview, but his logic and clarity have won me over. I was admittedly already “biologically aware,” with some sense of emergent systems and the tyranny of previously held beliefs in us all, when I originally challenged Dr. Parks seemly unbelievable suggestion that disease and aging remediation could be so "simple." Probably this book will provide a great deal of cognitive dissonance and getting to the other side of that will be everyone’s own personal journey...in which many will not succeed, that being said the material in this book is presented in the most palatable manner. He is a rare scientist/doctor able to write about technical material in the most engaging manner. I’ll be curious to see what backlash arises as people’s conceptions of life’s possibilities are radically challenged. I for one am still trying to work out the implications given that I now find Dr. Park’s account of aging and aging remediation the most convincing one out there. For those who find this dubious as I initially did, please engage in the discussion and elucidate where he and now I are missing something, but at the same time perhaps be mindful of all of our own biases towards protecting our unquestioned hidden belief systems and if possible state objections clearly with theory, mechanisms or data that can be constructively engaged with. Most of all enjoy the philosophical challenges this book poses.

Entertaining and informative

This is such an exciting area of development.
It is also really frustrating that this supplement is out of reach financially for me and I'm sure many other people, raising families and paying the mortgages.
I look forward to when the scientists come up with a more cost effective bio identical product as they have with hormones such as Progesterone, Then the benefits can be enjoyed by the average wrinkly wanting to keep fit and youthful.
